COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Elite Family,

March 12, 2020

As policies and suggestions re: COVID-19 continue to change, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Fredericton, NB event scheduled for April 3-5, 2020 at the Fredericton Playhouse & Crowne Plaza. More information regarding the rescheduling of the event will follow. We have already been in contact with both venues regarding date changes and will be in touch with studios as soon as a solidified plan has been put into place. Please contact the Crowne Plaza for any cancelations re: hotel room bookings.

While we are truly saddened to have to postpone another event, we as a community must take this seriously. We completely understand and share the disappointment over this decision. Any questions or concerns from studios will be addressed. All parental concerns should be addressed to a studio representative and then passed along to Elite management. We hope you continue to share your patience and understanding with us as we get back to you with any answers we may have. Please know that we are heartbroken to have to make this announcement yet again knowing all of the hard work that studios, dancers, and parents have put into preparing for this competition season. However, as previously stated, your health and the health of our team comes first and the only way we can get through this tough and confusing time is working together to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make updates through emails to studios, posts on social media, and on our website. The status of all remaining 2020 events are currently still in discussion.

Studio directors may email info@elitedanceproductions.ca with any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you yet again for your continued support, patience, and understanding,

All the best,

Amey, Graham, & the Elite Team

The health and well-being of the studios, their families, and our staff remains our highest priority at Elite. Please take the time to read the message below and share with fellow participants of the Elite 2020 tour.

With the increasing presence of COVID-19 worldwide, we want to make sure we take precautions to maintain a healthy environment for all. All of our events are currently being held as planned. However, we will be monitoring information from the CDC, WHO, and government of Canada closely to follow protocols as they are updated.

Our staff and faculty will be following the measures below, and we strongly encourage all those who plan to attend an Elite event in 2020 to follow suit:

  • Hand sanitizer and/or wipes will be provided at the merchandise table, registration booth, in all workshop rooms, and dressing rooms.
  • Reminders will be made via announcements throughout the weekend to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, and to cover sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow. Signs will be placed throughout each venue.
  • Our events will now be “hug, handshake, and high five free.” We understand there may be some frustration over this, however, we invite the studios and dancers to come up with new greetings that will be fun for the dancers and contact free (jazz hands are always an option!)
  • We will be using alcohol-based cleaner for our marley dance floor and any other surfaces that participants will be in contact with. All dressing, backstage, and common areas will be thoroughly cleaned as often as possible.
  • We strongly encourage those who are feeling under the weather or who have a compromised immune system (older adults & those with pre-existing conditions) to please refrain from attending the event as a dancer or audience member. We will have a livestream that will be running during the entire competition, including awards and the final show. You can watch all of our Elite events from the comfort and safety of your own home. We are also providing the studios with free videos of every performance this year, which can be viewed only days after the event if a dance happened to be missed on the livestream due to a conflict or technical issue.
  • We urge all dancers or participants who have come in contact with a person who has either tested positive with the virus or who has traveled to any critically affected countries to refrain from attending any Elite event.
  • All parental concerns should be addressed to the studio owner/administrator, and then passed along to an Elite staff member.

We completely understand the stress and concern over the current state of affairs and want to assure you that we believe your health comes first. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments/updates as needed. These updates will be emailed to studios, as well as posted on our website/social media pages as quickly as decisions are made.

Studio directors may email info@elitedanceproductions.ca with any additional concerns or questions.

Thank you for your support and we hope to dance with you soon,

All the best,

Amey, Graham, & the Elite team

As it has officially been announced that all schools in Nova Scotia will be closed until at least May 1st, 2020, we will sadly be postponing the remainder of our 2020 season: Sydney, NS event scheduled for April 23-26, 2020 at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre and Halifax, NS event scheduled for April 30-May 3, 2020 at the Spatz Theatre and Pier 21. More information regarding the rescheduling of both events will follow. We have already been in contact with the venues regarding date changes and will be in touch with studios as soon as a solidified plan has been put into place. Please contact the Hampton Inn in Sydney, NS or the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, NS for any cancelations re: hotel room bookings.

While we are truly disappointed that we have now had to postpone all of our 2020 events, we realize that this situation is much bigger and much more dire than we could have ever imagined. We completely understand and share the disappointment over these difficult yet necessary decisions. Any questions or concerns from studios will be addressed. All parental concerns should be addressed to a studio representative and then passed along to Elite management. We hope you continue to share your patience and understanding with us as we get back to you with any answers we may have. Please know that we are heartbroken to have to postpone our entire season knowing all of the hard work that studios, dancers, and parents have put into preparing for this competition season. However, as previously stated, your health and the health of our team comes first and the only way we can get through this tough and confusing time is working together to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. We assure you that the show will go on, just a little later than we had all expected.

Studio directors may email info@elitedanceproductions.ca with any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you, yet again and always, for your continued support, patience, and understanding. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay dancing.
